I had to be on the Peninsula this weekend so instead of Pumkin Patch I went to the PT Kinetic Races. Since I have no idea what direction my photography is going these images represent an attempt at something new. Event photography. My goal was to step back (no close-ups, or abstracts) and get more of the scene, to capture a moment at the event. Thank goodness the goal of Kinetic Races is not to be the best but to be average.

I mostly enjoy studying the early photographers (before color was widely used). One of my favorite artists is
Henri Cartier-Bresson recognized as being an early founder of "street" or candid photography and heavily influenced what modern journalism is today. Rigorous art training and his belief in the "decisive moment" resulted in stunning candid photos that capture and preserve not only moments but eras, cultures, and traditions in time. He was a founder of
Magnum photos where you can see some of his images.
These photos definitely tell a story. This event looks like SO much fun.
